Have you ever been so focused on being “right” that you missed what God was actually doing? In Matthew 12:1–14, the Pharisees did just that—condemning Jesus for breaking their rules while He was busy showing mercy. This passage reveals how legalism blinds us to God’s heart. Jesus reminds us that He desires mercy, not sacrifice—and that real freedom isn’t found in rule-keeping, but in resting in the Lord of the Sabbath.
