Prayer is a directive, not an option. Jesus says in Luke 11:2, “When you pray...” not “if you pray.”
Prayer builds relational unity. Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
Prayer results in supernatural love for God, for each other and for the world. Luke 13:34 – 35 says “A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.
Prayer produces spiritual growth.
Prayer produces boldness, courage, and passion to reach lost friends, neighbors, and relatives for Christ. Ephesians 6:19, “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.”
