The 24/7 Prayer goal is to lift up the requests and needs of the church to the throne of God for 24 hours, seven days a week. Hourly prayer times will be open from 6:00 AM until 11:00 PM. An open-ended time of 11:00 PM through 5:00 AM is for those individuals who feel called to pray during the middle of the night.
The 24/7 prayer team is like the Olympic relay team. It takes all of us to help make LCCC a house of prayer. And, as each runner passes the baton to the next runner, so we can call the next person on the 24/7 prayer board to begin their hour of prayer.
If you are a beginner, and have not had much experience praying, AND PRAYING FOR 1 HOUR IS UNDAUNTING, Do what you can...and expect God to help you become a prayer warrior. Praying faithfully, even for 5 or 10 minutes during your time is WORTH IT! Trust God and yourself that you will grow into your Prayer Shoes.
When beginning your turn to pray, allow time to meditate on God’s faithfulness, love and goodness. Begin your time by worshiping the Lord and coming into his presence. Then bring before him the requests of LCCC. Pray over each request by name. If you feel especially burdened, take time praying through the weekly printout from LCCC request, with the guidelines on “How To Pray for Your Church Family”.
When you have finished the request sheet and you find there is plenty of time left, pray for Pastor Kennington and his family. Pray for the leadership and the staff of LCCC by following the “How to pray for your pastor and leaders” sheet. Then spend time praying for any ministry that you feel especially drawn to. Pull out your bulletin and look at the events coming up that week. Pray for any event that will be occurring. Pray for your family and for your relatives. Pray for your neighbors by name, and for those you work with. Use the “How to pray for the Unsaved” sheet as a guide. Pray for your national, state, and local leaders. Pray for our schools, the children, teachers, our local police and fire department. Pray for our military overseas and missionaries.
