City Church it is our desire that you catch the vision God has
given us… that you begin to visualize the invisible. We have
worked hard at discerning the plans God has for our church
family, and at defining our vision so that it is clear,
challenging, and concise. It is our desire that you clearly see
the future of the ministry – but even more importantly, we want
you to capture the concept of our vision so that it will capture
you and provide a foundation for your personal ministry at Lake
City Church. |

Our Mission
(comprehensive purpose) is to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, by carrying out his command to make disciples of all
nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Specifically, we believe God has
called us to focus on reaching Lakewood and the surrounding
areas by leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus
Christ. |

In order to
accomplish this, Lake City Church will be an equipping center
where every Christian can be developed to his or her full
potential for ministry. This development will come through:

Lake City Community Church and the Lakewood area will be
different in five years, with the Christian influence being
increasingly felt in homes, businesses, education, and

It is the dream of a place
where all will find love and acceptance, healing and
forgiveness, comfort and hope, spiritual guidance and
friendship. |

It is the dream of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with
thousands of residents of Lakewood and surrounding communities.
We look forward to rejoicing with hundreds of our friends and
neighbors, as they trust Christ as Savior… celebrating with them
when they are baptized to publicly declare their love for Jesus
Christ. |

It is the dream of being a praying church family… as Jesus said, “My
house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” We
envision a church that emphasizes prayer in many venues – small
groups, worship services, Concerts of Prayer, Prayer Partner
ministry, and our prayer chain. |

It is the dream of biblical, practical sermons, which address everyday
issues in relevant terms. Where the use of drama, testimonies,
and video help the messages connect to real life. We envision
life-changing decisions being made in response to declaring
God’s Word. |

It is the dream of Spirit-empowered worship… where people develop a
life-style of worship that permeates every area of their lives.
We envision a place where people’s lives are changed as they
connect with God in worship. We dream of a church which is
known for its biblical, inspiring music, drama, and
visual-arts. Where worship services are celebrations of the
living, almighty, heavenly Father and His abundant goodness to
us. |

It is the dream of worshipping each week with 600 members of our
church family in multiple services -- welcoming people into a
close-knit church family – learning, laughing, loving, and
living together in harmony. |

It is the dream of developing people into spiritual maturity through
small groups, Adult Bible Fellowships, Men’s & Women’s
ministries, Bible studies, seminars, and retreats. It is the
dream of Lake City as a model of Christian Education that
focuses on biblical training for life-change, not just head
knowledge. |

It is the dream of outstanding children’s and youth ministries that
provide each child with positive relationships, an opportunity
to respond to Christ as Savior, a strong biblical foundation and
training for ministry. We envision safe, fun environments that
are staffed by devoted, loving, creative staff. Our goal is to
partner with parents to develop children into fully devoted
followers of Jesus Christ. |

It is the dream of equipping every believer for significant ministry
by helping them discover their God-given gifts and abilities.
We envision our people choosing to get involved in ministry for
God’s Kingdom. We purpose to develop our leaders through
conferences, classes, and “Team Huddles.” |

It is the dream of continuing to send out career missionaries all
around the world, and empowering everyone to fulfill their own
life mission at home and abroad. It is the dream of sending our
members by the dozens on short-term missions projects all around
the world. We envision every person actively supporting and
involved with at least one of our career missionaries. |

It is the dream of updating and expanding our facilities in order to
fulfill this vision. We envision providing a beautiful, yet
simple worship and discipleship center for the community. We
dream that in five years we will be in our new multi-purpose
Worship Center.
